Why do cooling tubes lose their integrity?
During everyday treatments, the handpiece is repeatedly moved, rotated, and repositioned. This creates recurring mechanical stress on the internal tubing.
Over time, flexible tubing may lose elasticity. Material ageing, repeated bending, and operating conditions can contribute to cracks, leaks, and weakened connections.

Why are coolant leaks dangerous?
The cooling system removes heat from critical laser components. When coolant escapes, circulation and cooling performance may deteriorate.
Continued operation can result in overheating, interrupted treatments, and expensive component damage.
Leaking liquid near electrical connections creates an additional safety concern.

Is replacing the protective sleeve enough?
Not necessarily. The corrugated outer sleeve protects the internal assembly from mechanical damage, but it does not seal the coolant circuit.
If the internal tubes have deteriorated, the damaged components must be repaired or replaced.

A real repair at Laser Tech Service
A customer from Prague recently brought us a cosmetic laser with coolant leaking from the handpiece hose assembly.
Our inspection revealed worn internal cooling tubes that had lost their integrity.
We replaced the tubing, fitted a new protective sleeve, and reassembled the handpiece and treatment head to eliminate looseness.
We also cleaned accumulated dust from inside the device, performed maintenance, and replaced the coolant.
After servicing, the laser was operational again.

How can similar failures be prevented?
Inspect the handpiece hose regularly, avoid excessive twisting and sharp bends, and watch for moisture or coolant leaks.
If a leak appears, stop using the equipment and arrange professional inspection.
Laser Tech Service provides cosmetic laser diagnostics, maintenance, and repair, with a six-month warranty on completed work.
