## What does power supply and electronics repair include?
We determine the scope after diagnostics. Wiring repair, laser power supply replacement and component repair are different options; not every case requires all of them.
### Power supply replacement
We identify the power supply fault, check output voltages and supply stability. We select a compatible replacement according to technical specifications and device requirements. We remove the faulty unit, install the new one and check device operation.
### Wiring, cable looms and connectors
We locate breaks and cable damage. We repair or replace damaged cables and repair contact assemblies, connectors and electrical connections. We check insulation and contact integrity.
### Component-level power supply repair
We diagnose electronic components including capacitors, diodes, transistors and rectifiers. We replace components found to be faulty and repair damaged contacts and solder joints. After repair, we check output stability. This list does not mean all these parts are replaced.
### Assessing repair feasibility and restoring operation
We identify the damage, assess repair feasibility and check component availability. We restore operation where technically possible and safe for use. If repair is not justified or will not ensure safe operation, we recommend replacing the complete power supply.
## When does electronics need servicing?
Similar symptoms may result from different faults. We establish the precise cause through diagnostics; a symptom alone does not confirm a faulty power supply.
### The device will not switch on
A lack of response may involve incoming power, connections, the power supply or control system.
### Unexpected shutdowns and restarts
The device switches off during operation or restarts intermittently. We check when the problem occurs and how the systems interact.
### Power errors and unstable electronics
Power messages or intermittent electronic operation require assessment against the device design and the meaning of its error codes.
### Damaged cables or connectors
Visible damage to cables, looms and contacts requires checks of connections and insulation.
### Incorrect output voltage
Missing or unstable voltage is identified by service measurements. We do not recommend taking measurements inside the device yourself.
### Overheating or an unusual smell
Heat and unusual smells from the electronics compartment require use to be stopped and a technical assessment arranged.
**If you notice a burning smell, smoke or visible cable damage, stop using the device and disconnect it from the mains if safe to do so. Do not dismantle it yourself; contact the service team.**
## How does the repair proceed?
1. ### Report the fault
Describe the symptoms, device model if known, and the circumstances in which the problem occurred.
2. ### Power system diagnostics
We check the power system in relation to the device design and reported symptoms.
3. ### Power supply, cable and electronics inspection
We examine the power supply, looms, connectors and relevant electronic components to locate the fault.
4. ### Assessment: repair or replacement
We assess repair feasibility, parts availability and the conditions needed for safe operation after the work.
5. ### Agreeing costs
Before repair, we present the scope and quotation, including required parts, for customer approval.
6. ### Repair or replacement
We carry out the agreed connection and component repairs or replace the faulty assembly.
7. ### Post-repair checks
We check electrical parameters and device operation within the scope appropriate to the repair.
## Why entrust electronics to specialists?
### Power supply compatibility
An incorrectly selected power supply may damage other components. Matching dimensions or connectors does not replace matching electrical specifications.
### Reliable electrical connections
Unstable or damaged contacts may cause local heating. Checking connections helps identify the source of the problem.
### Power supply stability
Faulty capacitors and power components may disrupt power supply operation. Diagnostics determine whether a specific component needs replacing.

The price from EUR 165 does not include any new power supply or all replacement parts. Parts are priced after diagnostics and agreed with the customer. Diagnostics ordered without repair or servicing are charged under the current terms of the relevant service.

### 3000 NAIN — power supply unit repair
**Symptom:** A device power problem requiring diagnostics.
**Cause:** Diagnostics identified the power supply unit; no list of faulty components was provided.
**Result:** The unit's electronics were repaired, the unit refitted and the device started and checked.

## Power supply and electronics repair questions
### How much does laser power supply repair cost?
Prices start at EUR 165. The final cost depends on the fault, parts and scope. The starting amount does not include any new power supply or every possible part. Parts costs are agreed after diagnostics; travel and transport are charged separately.
### Why will my laser device not switch on?
The cause may involve incoming power, cables, connectors, the power supply or controls. A faulty component cannot be identified without diagnostics. If there is smoke, a burning smell or damaged wiring, stop use and safely disconnect the device from the mains without dismantling it yourself.
### Can a power supply be repaired instead of replaced?
Yes, where its condition, parts availability and design allow a technically justified, safe repair. Not every power supply is repairable. We decide after diagnostics and recommend replacement where necessary.
### Do you repair damaged electrical wiring?
Yes. The scope includes diagnostics and repair of cables, looms, contacts, connectors and electrical connections. Damaged sections are repaired or replaced according to their condition and device requirements, followed by insulation and connection checks.
### Can individual electronic components be replaced?
Where appropriate, we perform component-level repairs, such as replacing faulty capacitors, diodes, transistors or rectifiers and repairing solder joints. This does not mean replacing the entire list; selection follows diagnostics and safe repair feasibility.
### Are diagnostics free?
Diagnostics are free when you commission repair or servicing from Laser Tech Service. If you order diagnostics only, the current terms for that service apply. Travel remains a separate charge.
### Is engineer travel an additional charge?
Yes. Travel and transport are charged separately, including when diagnostics are free with a repair. Visit arrangements are agreed with the customer.
### How long does electronics repair take?
Timing depends on the damage, device design, component availability and post-repair checks. We agree a possible completion time after diagnostics; there is no single timeframe for all devices.
