Symptoms are not a final diagnosis. A similar problem can have different causes, so the handpiece and its interaction with the device need technical inspection before parts are selected. ### The handpiece has stopped cooling The cause may involve coolant circulation, heat dissipation, power or controls. We check the Peltier module only in designs that use one. ### Laser performance has decreased Reduced performance may involve the optics, laser diode module or power supply. Treatment results alone are insufficient to assess laser output. ### The handpiece overheats We check the cooling system and thermal connections. We do not assume that replacing thermal paste will be sufficient. ### Coolant is leaking Inspection identifies the leak location and the condition of hoses, connections and seals. Report a leak before using the equipment further. ### Damaged seals Worn or incorrectly seated O-rings and seals may cause leaks. We select parts compatible with the design. ### Unstable diode operation Irregular operation requires checks of the module, its power supply and connections. The symptom does not automatically mean the diode needs replacing. ### Contaminated cooling channels Deposits and contamination may restrict flow. Cleaning scope depends on channel design and access. ## What does refurbishment include? Not every handpiece contains all the components described.
