## When does IPL equipment need servicing?
No pulses or reduced treatment results do not automatically identify one faulty component. We establish the cause through diagnostics, considering settings, design and device condition.
### No IPL pulses
The device does not flash when triggered. Readiness, controls, the lamp and its power supply need checking.
### Reduced treatment effectiveness
A worn lamp may reduce pulse energy. Treatment results alone do not replace a technical inspection of the lamp and optics.
### Handpiece overheating
Excessive handpiece heat may result from insufficient heat removal or other faults. Do not continue using an overheating handpiece.
### Faulty cooling
Inadequate cooling requires checks of the components used in the specific model, including the coolant circuit where fitted.
### Errors and unstable operation
We assess messages, interruptions and irregular pulses against the device documentation. Please provide the error code when contacting us.
### Damaged filters or optical components
Cracks, degradation or contamination in the optical path require assessment. Not every damaged component can be cleaned or reused.
## What does IPL servicing include?
### IPL xenon flashlamp replacement
We diagnose the flashlamp and check handpiece operation. We replace a worn or faulty lamp with a compatible part and then check operation. Lamp wear may reduce light pulse energy.
### Cleaning and replacement of optical filters and light guide components
We assess filters and light guide components, clean accessible surfaces using suitable methods and replace damaged or degraded parts. We check the optical path after servicing. Not every filter or light guide can be restored for use.
### IPL cooling system diagnostics and repair
We check handpiece cooling and, depending on the design, coolant circulation, pumps, fans and sensors. We address identified faults and check the liquid circuit for leaks where fitted. Scope depends on the cooling design.
### IPL pulse energy checks and calibration
We check pulse stability and operating parameters. Output energy is measured where suitable measurement equipment is available. Calibration is possible according to the manufacturer's documentation where the model supports it and a procedure is available. We do not claim to calibrate every IPL device.

Provide the model, messages and symptoms: no flash, reduced performance, heating or a cooling problem.
2. ### Handpiece and device diagnostics
We assess the lamp, optics and associated systems within the scope of the reported problem.
3. ### Agreeing repair and price
We confirm feasible work, required parts and available checking or calibration procedures. We agree the quotation with the customer.
4. ### Component servicing or replacement
We carry out approved work on the lamp, optics or cooling as indicated by diagnostics.
5. ### Post-service operational test
We check handpiece operation, cooling and the parameters that can be verified for the model.

If you order diagnostics only, we agree its terms and charge beforehand.

## IPL repair questions
### How much does IPL equipment servicing cost?
Prices start at EUR 220. The final cost is agreed after diagnostics; parts and additional work are quoted individually. Engineer travel is charged separately.
### Does no flash mean the IPL lamp is worn out?
Not always. The cause may involve the lamp, its power supply, controls or device readiness conditions. We recommend lamp replacement after checking the device and handpiece.
### When should a xenon lamp be replaced?
Its condition, usage history, handpiece operation and manufacturer requirements are assessed. Wear may reduce pulse energy. We do not specify a universal flash count after which every lamp needs replacing.
### Can a damaged optical filter be cleaned?
Cleaning helps with suitable contamination on accessible surfaces, but does not repair cracks or all forms of degradation. Filter and light guide condition determines whether reuse or replacement is appropriate.
### What should I do if the IPL handpiece overheats?
Stop work in accordance with the device instructions and report the problem. Diagnostics may cover heat removal, coolant circulation, the pump, fans and sensors, depending on the model. Do not bypass protective systems.
### Do you calibrate every IPL model?
No. Calibration availability depends on the model's documentation and functions and suitable equipment. Energy measurement and calibration are agreed after these capabilities are established; reading a set value from the screen is not a substitute.
### Are diagnostics and travel free?
Diagnostics are free when you commission servicing or repair from Laser Tech Service. Travel remains a separate charge. The terms of diagnostics ordered on their own are agreed in advance.
### What should I include in a request and when can repair take place?
Provide the IPL model, symptoms, error codes and service history if known. Timing depends on diagnostics, lamp or other parts availability and scope; there is no single timeframe for all models.
